扎根中國─HYUNDAI將於中國山東成立全新引擎工廠！

近日AutoNet不斷報導，有關韓國HYUNDAI汽車於全球倍受肯定與優異表現的各項報導，而以2010年成為全球前五大車廠為目標的HYUNDAI，中國絕對是HYUNDAI進軍五大的重要市場之一，為深化於中國的戰力，HYUNDAI日前宣佈，將於中國的山東省建立全新的引擎工廠，生產HYUNDAI新世代的THETA系列引擎。
搭載於Sonata等車款上的THETA系列引擎，是HYUNDAI自主開發的全新世代引擎，排氣量為1.8~2.4升，運用了VVT可變進汽門正時科技，具高效率、高環保特色。
HYUNDAI已選定中國山東省日照市，為HYUNDAI THETA系列引擎於中國的生產基地，未來該地生產之引擎，將提供北京現代與東風悅達起亞生產之車款使用。
而HYUNDAI之所以選擇該市為生產基地，原因是該地位於北京現代，以及江蘇的東風悅達起亞兩地之間，且與韓國的仁川港距離較近，於運輸上有所優勢，而日照市正是HYUNDAI-KIA集團副總裁薛榮興的祖籍所在，身為韓籍華僑的薛榮興，目前也負責HYUNDAI-KIA集團於中國的各項發展事務。
