2010年南韓將會成為F1新的增設分站，F1掌門人Bernie Ecclestone則曾經表示，將協助培育韓國F1車手，並希望有朝一日能有一支韓國車隊參賽，就在韓國分站確定不久後，最近傳出，韓國最大車廠HYUNDAI有意成為F1的車隊之一。
希望在2010年韓國分戰開賽前，能夠擁有一支韓國車隊，HYUNDAI曾經傳出有意購買現在原有的車隊，可能會放棄和SAMSUNG合作，以及也有消息指出HYUNDAI最近正在和Bernie Ecclestone商討中。
HYUNDAI計畫在2008年參加國際拉力賽事，之後可能參加的世界冠軍作預習；不過到底2010年是否會有韓系車隊出現在F1賽車場上，目前還沒有一個明確的回應，如果有最新消息AutoNet將會繼續為網友們追蹤。
