DAIMLER CHRYSLER將與HYUNDAI深化中國引擎合作！

其實，在目前北美汽車市場上，CHRYSLER Group與MITSUBISHI自動車依舊擁有合作關係，日前於底特律北美國際車展發表的全新世代Lancer美規車系，就是與JEEP Compass、JEEP Patriot、DODGE Caliber共用平台的新車，未來美規的HYUNDAI Elantra新車也將與上列車款共用在北美洲生產的直列四缸引擎！
所以，DAIMLER CHRYSLER最近有意進一步深化與HYUNDAI汽車的合作，為了擴大在北美合資建廠生產共同引擎的計畫，日前DAIMLERC HRYSLER集團總裁Dieter Zetsche在底特律北美車展現場，也宣布將與HYUNDAI協商於中國合資建立全新的引擎廠，擴大北美原廠稱為「全球引擎World Engine」的合作模式，若試辦成功的話，更計畫與HYUNDAI在中國進一步於零件生產進行戰略合作。
不久前，CHRYSLER Group才宣布將與中國奇瑞汽車合作生產小型車，若與HYUNDAI合作計畫實現的話，這項計畫可能慢慢演變為中、美、德、韓四國業者間的龐大戰略合作計畫，而奇瑞汽車也可能因此獲得更多技術資源，進而加速站上國際舞台的腳步，當然也因為CHRYSLER Group希望可以開發出與日系品牌一樣低成本的中小型車款，在中國或其他開發中國家具備同樣的產品競爭力，所以DAIMLER CHRYSLER集團才會有此創意。
