韓國的駕駛在2009年在買車時，環保節能的油電動力複合式汽車，款式將會比現再增加許多。世界第一大車廠TOYOTA在星期四表示，要在2009年開始於韓國出售走紅國際的Prius油電車。
在1997年於日本推出的Prius油電車，是全球第一輛大量生產的hybrid油電車，目前已累積了94萬輛的銷售量。身為製造hybrid車的先鋒，TOYOTA也計畫在韓國推出Camry的油電版。這台車目前在美國市場的銷售表現可圈可點。
日本第二大車廠HONDA在去年引進Civic油電車到韓國市場，在環保議題越來越受到各界重視的時刻，HONDA也打算在2009年於韓國推出另一台較小的油電車，增加車廠在當地的多元競爭力。
在TOYOTA宣佈要在韓國推出新款油電車之後，HYUNDAI也表示明年要在韓國市場推出hybrid車款。HYUNDAI董事長Chung Mong-Koo指出，他們自2004年以來，已經製造了2800輛hybrid油電車，不過只限政府機關使用，車款包括HYUNDAI Click、HYUNDAI Verna以及KIA Pride。
