挾帶著HYUNDAI i10在印度的銷售佳績，印度HYUNDAI打算乘著這波強強滾的聲勢，推出比i10更大的系列車款。德國高級車品牌BMW和M-BENZ在印度市場拼出了好成績，身為印度最大汽車出口商的HYUNDAI也不甘示弱，打算一口氣推出三款i系列車款，征服印度和其他海外市場。
首先順勢登場的是i20，它將在10月份推出，而i30和i40的系列車款也會在幾年內分別上市。這些新車款將會取代HYUNDAI現有的車款。印度HYUNDAI的負責人HS Lheem在接受當地媒體訪問時表示 :「我們計劃要將所有全新的i系列車款帶入印度，這些新一代的車款相當符合印度市場迅速成長的需求。此外我們也打算加強i10的陣容，在接下來幾個月內，推出搭載全新引擎和自排的版本。」
全新的i10掀背小車將搭載新一代1.2升Kappa系列引擎，比目前1.1升引擎iRDE引擎的67匹馬力還要多出13匹。由於印度調動高油耗量車款的產品稅，因此HYUNDAI決定延後推出全新Santa Fe運動休旅車的時間至明年。「我們重新替旗下的高級車款找到定位，並且有效掌握了小型車款的部分。小城市和小鎮近來對於高級車的需求量增加，我們決定將目標鎖定在這些市場。」Lheem說。
HYUNDAI目前夥同印度汽車零件製造商協會(ACMA) ，要求印度政府簽屬與泰國相同的自由貿易協議書，其中明文規定要降低汽車零件的稅金。HYUNDAI計劃要從印度出口引擎和零件至世界各地，今年預計將出口20000顆引擎給南韓的KIA。
