根據最新外電消息指出，韓國最大的汽車工業集團HYUNDAI自動車，日前宣布將量產一款全新的油電混合動力巴士，並且將在不久之後試產，正式進軍全球替代能源客車市場！
韓國HYUNDAI自動車表示，這款全新油電混合動力巴士，最快將在2009年底之前投入量產行列，目前已經有為數12輛試作車在韓國境內進行試營運。
這輛油電混合動力巴士，車上搭載一具最大功率相當於11hp的電動馬達，除了輔助汽油引擎並且與油電混合動力管理系統連動外，最重要的就是負責Stop-and-go暫停自動熄火/啟動裝置，與我們日前報導其他品牌的同類系統一樣，在紅燈或暫停駕駛人踩下煞車踏板瞬間，引擎會自動熄火，搭配會自動儲存下坡或煞車時產生能量循環利用的油電混合動力管理系統，整體可讓這輛油電混合動力巴士，比傳統柴油動力巴士省下約15-20％的燃油消耗。
此外，更有趣的是，這套油電混合動力系統可以不經修改直接換裝在任何其他柴油或天然氣商用車上，而且成本僅有像是Full-Hybrid系統的五分之一，對於客運業者來說所增加的成本並不多，卻可以享受到油電混合動力車款在油耗與環保兩方面的效益提升。
韓國原廠表示這款新車未來量產後，以一般韓國當地大客車行駛里程計算，約可比傳統柴油客車省下介於6-8百萬韓圜的油料支出，約合新台幣17.73-23.64萬元左右。
