根據美國審核產品和服務品質的組織「消費者報告」(Consumer Reports)在星期天公佈的報告顯示，南韓的HYUNDAI和KIA都獲選為2008年汽車可靠度民調結果，前十名的汽車。HYUNDAI今年的名次攀升七個名次至第八名，KIA則攀升12個席次至第十名。
消費者報告分別在小型車和家庭車的部份，選擇Avante和Lotze為最佳車款之一，對HYUNDAI和KIA來說是難得的殊榮。除了HYUNDAI和KIA之外，前十名剩下的席次全都被日本汽車佔據。TOYOTA憑藉著只在北美銷售的品牌SCION拿下第一名，TOYOTA本身則拿下第四名，LEXUS摘下第五名。
HONDA旗下的豪華車品牌ACURA名列第二，HONDA則位居第三。而第六名、第七名和第九名，則分別是INFINITI、SUBARU和MITSUBISHI。飽受全球金融風暴衝擊的美國和歐洲車廠，在消費者報告的可靠度調查中，名次皆不甚理想。
FORD集團旗下的三個品牌LINCOLN、MERCURY和FORD，分別名列第11名、第15名和第17名。絕大多數GM旗下的品牌，可靠度表現都低於平均標準。BUICK排名，CHEVROLET排名第24，PONTIAC排名第29，CADILLAC排名第31，SATURN排名第33。
