HYUNDAI Sonata 2011年中進口確定，國產化與否視狀況評估！

曾在2009年底台北車展中現身的HYUNDAI Sonata，因為詢問度非常高，且目前銷售狀況頗佳的iX35獲得消費者認同，因此HYUNDAI總代理南陽汽車確定將引進Sonata在台灣銷售，引進車型等及共有2.0L與2.4L兩種排氣量，期望入手價格低於百萬以內，同時也可能遵循Matrix模式視市場反應再考慮國產化可行性。
為了在全球主流市場中站穩腳步，HYUNDAI在這幾年的表現有目共睹，不僅創造全新設計語彙流體雕刻（fluidic sculpture），並導入性能與經濟性兼具的動力系統外，品質和口碑大幅提升不說，就連iX35、Sonata、Genesis、Elantra等也都在全球賣到缺車，可見得HYUNDAI成功扭轉眾人對韓國車的觀念。而在2009年台北車展中亮相的中大型房車Sonata，目前確定將在2011年中以進口車身分引進台灣，主要鎖定國產HONDA Accord、TOYOTA Camry、NISSAN Teana、FORD Mondeo與進口VW Passat、SUBARU Legacy等買家。
早在2005年開發原廠代號YF的Sonata，是HYUNDAI歷時四年、耗資美金3.7億元（約新台幣110億元）的傑作，2795mm的軸距創造出4820×1835×1470mm車身，充滿流體造型的搶眼外觀頗有Coupe的味道，和同級對手更脫穎而出。充滿運動氣息的內裝鋪陳仍有著豪華感，Bluetooth無線藍牙通訊裝置、前/後座加溫座椅、Push Start、恆溫空調、ESC（Electronic Stability Control）車身電子穩定控制系統、六具防護氣囊、TCS（Traction Control System）循跡控制系統、EBD（Electronic Brake-force Distribution）電子煞車力分配系統、TPMS（Tire Pressure Monitoring System）胎壓偵測系統都列在總代理與原廠協商清單中，因此引進台灣的車型可能會有些調整。
動力方面引進台灣的Sonata共有2.0L（1998cc）與2.4L（2359cc）兩具Theta II MPi DOHC直列四缸汽油引擎，最大輸出功率分別為165hp/20.2kgm、178hp/23.3kgm，變速系統則和ix35相同，為具備手自排模式的六速自排變速箱。可惜的是最新開發的2.4L GDI I4缸內直噴汽油引擎並未入列，因此消費者無法感受200hp的魅力。
目前確定Sonata將在2011年6-7月左右於台灣發表，起跳售價方面總代理期望能壓在新台幣100萬元以內，當然這是韓國原廠能順利供應的情況（因為Sonata在全球熱銷），至於是否國產化？就端賴Sonata引進後在台灣的表現了。
