安全酷跑型男，HYUNDAI Veloster獲NHTSA五星最高認證

由韓國Namyang設計中心主導，HYUNDAI Veloster以特立獨行的2+1掀背設計讓這輛掀背小跑車擁有獨樹一格的「四門」外型。即使採用不對稱式的車門設計，但卻沒有任何突兀的視覺感受，不過擁有酷炫的外表，Veloster可不像那些紈褲子弟讓人無法放心，在最新的撞擊測試之下Veloster深獲NHTSA五星最高肯定。

NHTSA撞擊測試

2011年起，NHTSA以EuroNCAP前方撞擊、側邊撞擊及翻滾測試等標準作為更新參考値，並且將提高傷害程度的重視，包括正面撞擊測試部份，將新增對於腿部傷害，以及側邊撞擊頭部傷害的重要性。並加入主動式安全科技，例如像ESC電子穩定系統、車道偏移辨識系統和避免後方追撞系統等，來作為安全測試評估的參考，使許多受試車款均失去了舊有法規的5星評級，顯見其嚴苛程度。
經過一連串的測試項目，HYUNDAI Veloster在正面撞擊、側面撞擊以及翻滾測試中，分別獲得4星、5星以及4星的評價等級，並且以5星的總合評價等級獲得NHTSA的安全認證，細項部分在正面撞擊前後座分為4星、5星，側面撞擊部分則全數都獲得5星肯定，至於在翻滾測試方面潛在的翻車機率為10.5%，對於以年輕族群為取向的掀背車而言，這樣的成績十分令人激賞。
不過其實早在2011年Veloster早就已經通過euroNCAP的5星最高認證，對於成人、兒童及行人的防護上各有96%、89%與49%的高度評價，測試結果發現Veloster在成人防護方面獲得了相當優異的成績，以駕駛及乘客測試假人所做出來的正面撞擊結果中獲得了15.5高分，側面撞擊的部分也有著8分的成績，顯現Veloster不僅酷炫，更有著堅硬厚實的臂膀。
