    提高識別度,HYUNDAI一統產品名稱放棄i命名系統

南韓HYUNDAI進軍國際後,在國際車市裡經營的也算有聲有色。而為了區分歐美兩大主要銷售市場,HYUNDAI採用i開頭的命名系統來凸顯各區的專使屬性質。然而,根據一份近期澳洲媒體在訪問中指出,HYUNDAI澳洲總執行長表示:「以Tucson為例,HYUNDAI將逐步淘汰掉i命名系統。」

當初為了區分歐規和美規兩種不同車型,HYUNDAI將大部分在歐洲當地上市的車款,改以i字頭命名法來取代原有名稱。例如,在美國稱為Elantra GT的掀背車款,在歐洲改名為i30;Veracruz改稱為ix55;Sonata 以i40的名稱上市。但是這樣的作法讓同一車款有兩種名稱並行,不但造成不少民眾或零件供應商的困擾,也大幅降低了HYUNDAI產品的辨識度。

如今,HYUNDAI似乎意識到了問題所在,並打算在近期放棄i字頭的命名規則。HYUNDAI澳洲部門總執行長Scott Grant便指出:「即便有著忠實車迷們的支持,讓HYUNDAI在澳洲銷量穩定成長,但在歐洲HYUNDAI卻不是做得那麼成功。而i字頭命名法也確實成為了我們晉升為全球性企業的阻礙,未來i字頭命名法的續存機率可能不大。」

其實,早在去年起,HYUNDAI就先試著將ix35改回原本名稱-Tucson,如今這樣的做法將擴大到大部分車系中,僅保留目前最暢銷的i30車系。不少媒體業界懷疑,HYUNDAI可能是由於銷售量不甚理想,因此想藉以更接近單字的名稱,來增加消費者對其產品的印象。不論結果如何,起碼這一步確實能減少大家對HYUNDAI車款的混亂。
