車內也能完整消毒，HYUNDAI研發包殺菌功能的車內紫外線UV燈

紫外線（UV）殺菌已不算新發現，不過，在必須面對新冠病毒的威脅之下，紫外線的殺菌能力則讓HYUNDAI集團構想出研發車用紫外線消毒燈，讓未來車主能在車頂安裝一顆紫外線燈、替汽車內部進行完整消毒，期望不起眼的車燈能夠變成抵禦病毒傳播的關鍵設備之一；只是，目前HYUNDAI並沒有透露這個技術會在哪個時候應用在車輛上面，現在仍進行研發當中。
車廠近日已在集團網站上宣布，計畫在車輛上面應用紫外線殺菌的技術，同時，車廠也正想開發一種車內專用的燈飾，當然，會加入紫外線、具殺菌功能；車廠也表示，裝設此類燈飾最理想的位置為車頂，如此一來，便能夠同時針對座椅、地板踏墊、儀表板、方向盤等部分進行消毒，另外，除了能夠使用紫外線針對表面來進行消毒之外，集團也正在研究是否能夠將相關技術用在清除空氣中的病原體；不過，因為紫外線會對人體、皮膚造成危害，因此，車廠表示，未來，將僅在沒有人在車內的時候，才能使用紫外線消毒功能。
其實，使用紫外線燈具消毒、試圖減少病原體的方式，至少可追溯到1930年代，當時，像是美國費城就已有教學大樓中應用這種紫外線殺菌燈；至於現在，紫外線也有被用在地鐵車廂、醫院手術室、甚至許多公共區域等等，表面消毒用具也有採用紫外線燈。
