遊戲、時尚與賽車運動美學融為一體，現代推出打造INSTEROID全新概念車

過去每一年的4月1日愚人節，總是有些車廠出來搞怪，推出一些插科打諢、純屬搞笑的愚人節專車，不過現代汽車（Hyundai）今日似乎是玩真的，在首爾 藝文空間Peaches D8NE舉行 的夜間車庫派對（Night Garage Party），公布了一台以全球熱銷的全新電動城市休旅 Inster 加以重新構思而打造的「夢想車」INSTEROID，目的在於挑戰傳統並創造新的激情。它將在 4 月 3 日至 4 月 13 日舉行的首爾移動展公開亮相。
它的車名稱之為INSTEROID，是以Inster和Sterroid兩字組合而成。它依循著現代汽車去年發表的 RN24 Concept概念車的思維，該概念車被現代視為現代汽車品牌未來性能化電動車的「移動實驗室」。
INSTEROID是以拉力賽車的概念出發，其造型取材自現代汽車參加WRC世界越野拉力錦標賽賽車的外觀，結合幾何造型元素而打造，並融入線上遊戲和大規模客製化的相結合，以吸引新世代的車主。外型看似樂高積木車，具備爆龜式的輪拱和寬厚的車臀，加上讓車身格局方正的拱形車身套件，並配備和拉力賽相同的車頂進氣口、巨大的尾翼，模仿現代世界拉力錦標賽機器的外觀。
在座艙內，INSTEROID採用精簡的佈局，配置桶形賽車座椅、防滾籠架和液壓式手煞車，這些配件凸顯了這台車的高性能的設計意圖。但INSTEROID也不是那麼商業化，像是它配備了一具笨重的「Beat House」音響系統，附有電子式真空管式放大器，並且在關鍵接觸界面上，放置了許多電玩遊戲太空侵略者（Space Invader） 風格的異形的圖案裝飾。
現代尚未公佈INSTEROID的技術細節，但 RN24 使用了從 Ioniq 5 N 借來最大馬力641 bhp 的雙電動馬達，使這輛車重 1880 公斤的漂移車的時速0到100公里加速只要 3.4 秒即可完成，而其 84kWh 電池可產生448公里的續航里程。
現代汽車歐洲首席設計師 Eduardo Ramírez 表示，這台車設計的目的在激發和創造熱情，INSTEROID代表著人們對夢想車概念的現代詮釋。儘管現代汽車官方表示 Insteroid 是概念性的，但它的存在（就像 RN24 一樣），傳達現代汽車有意生產其最小型電動車性能版的企圖。事實上，現代汽車已承認「INSTEROID 是熱銷生產模式旅程的又一步，緊隨其後的是Inster Cross加強版即將上市。
