    名車列傳(275):HYUNDAI Scoupe(1989-1996)

就在Presto/Excel問世四年後,由於全球雙門跑車成為一種潮流,因此HYUNDAI遂以Excel為基礎開發車名為Scoupe的雙門小跑車,帥氣的外型與低廉價格果然獲得年輕人喜愛,甚至還變成產品陣容中不可或缺的車款,甚至日後的後驅雙門跑車Genesis Coupe也深受其影響。

身為HYUNDAI旗下第一款雙門跑車的Scoupe,是以 "sporty"和 "coupe"兩字結合所創造出車名,意味具有強烈運動感的雙門車,然而動力方面卻不盡人意,搭載來自MITSUBISHI的1468cc直列四缸電子供油噴射引擎,僅有72hp/5100rpm的馬力輸出,扭力表現亦只有12.4kgm/3250rpm,並可選擇五速手排或四速自排變速箱,由於車重僅950kg,因此還能創造162km/h的極速表現,這在1980年代末期算是不錯的成績。爾後進行動力調校,輸出功率提升為92 hp/5500rpm、13.5kgm/4000rpm,並增加一具渦輪增壓,性能大幅升級為115 hp/5500rpm、17.0kgm/4500rpm,如此調整也稍稍平撫消費者對性能不足的微詞。

外觀造型重新設計的Scoupe,擁有2380mm軸距與4215×1625×1330mm車身尺碼,當時標配擾流尾翼與上掀式天窗頗獲歡迎,內裝鋪陳則是與Presto/Excel相同,但導入不少跑車運動化元素後,似乎也變得有模有樣,不過採用2+2座椅結構,反而犧牲後座乘員的空間和舒適性。懸吊結構和煞車系統完全從Presto/Excel移植,為前麥弗遜/後拖曳臂和前碟後鼓。由於最小迴轉半徑僅有4.9m,外觀造型也頗帥氣,加上好開容易駕駛,於北美市場多獲得年輕人和女性所欣賞。

1994年雖然Excel進行全面大改款,不過Scoupe並沒有跟著進入新世代,反倒是等到1996年才由全新的Tiburon所取代,當然HYUNDAI也靠Scoupe培養出不少品牌愛好者,同時這也奠定日後更為穩健成長的基礎。
