AutoNet曾於今年初時未各位有關韓國現代汽車與中國北京汽車合作成立北京現代汽車有限公司，並簽訂投資備忘錄(MOU)之相關消息。這家新公司於日前宣佈預計於明年〈2003〉初開始生產Sonata新車，2003年度預計生產約五萬輛，而至2005年後，該公司生產量將提昇至二十萬輛左右；「北京現代汽車公司」之股權分配為韓國現代汽車公司〈Hyundai〉與中國北京汽車公司各擁有50%的股權，至於新公司之經營權則屬韓國現代擁有。
