i30對手直指VW Golf！

由現代法蘭克福設計中心所主導設計的i30，甫於今年日內瓦車展發表，隨即於台北車展與民眾相見，為現代汽車專為歐洲市場所開發的中型掀背世界車，目標對手為歐洲當紅VW Golf與PEUGEOT 307等車系，同時擁有五門掀背與旅行車型。

南韓最大的車廠HYUNDAI計畫在2009年以後，以全新的i30小型車，在全球創下26萬輛汽車的銷售數字，HYUNDAI透過電子郵件發佈消息，表示他們要出口二十四萬輛汽車到全求各地，剩下的數量才會在韓國出售。這個月初HYUNDAI率先在歐洲推出i30小型車，並於星期四在韓國緊接著推出。預計今年要賣出7.8萬輛，其中6,000輛才是屬於韓國市場。
動力方面，原廠提供1.6升汽油、1.6升柴油與2.0升汽油三種版本的配置，頂級車款更提供六具防護氣囊與ABS+EBD整合式煞車系統、循跡控制系統與ESP動態穩定控制系統。由i30 開始，HYUNDAI將啟動全新命名方式，未來新車均以 i作為開頭，而i30代表進軍的是所謂歐洲市場中C-Segment級距，因此未來i20就是Getz後繼車款，i10則為下一代Atoz次迷你車的稱號，向上延伸的i40為Sonata級距後繼車款，i-50就是Azera-Grandeur的新車名。
