2024在北美最安全的汽車品牌是HYUNDAI，共9款新車獲選IIHS全安車輛優選領先各車廠

說起安全，你可能以為最安全的車子莫過於VOLVO或TOYOTA等品牌，實則不然，簡稱IIHS的美國公路安全保險協會（Insurance Institute for Highway Safety），是美國最具權威性的車輛安全評鑑體系，他們所做的新車撞擊安全測試，和美國政府NHSTA的車輛安全撞擊測試的重要性是相同的。根據IIHS的2024年評鑑，現代汽車（HYUNDAI）是最安全的品牌，共9 款車獲選安全優選車款，其中又有6款為最安全車輛優選車（Top Safety Pick），其中3款為Top Safety Pick+最最安全車輛優選。
IIHS的美國公路安全保險協會是美國一家由汽車保險公司資助的非盈利性第三方機構，也因為非官方身份，撞擊測試的受測車輛是直接購入市售車款進行，而非由車廠自行提供，分級也更為嚴苛，所以地位極其重要。而2024 年 IIHS 測試更加嚴格，強調後座乘客保護和避免行人碰撞。IIHS的2024 年式車輛撞擊測試，現代獲得的「最佳安全精選」數量比其他任何車輛都多，共有9 輛車獲得了令人垂涎的評級，包括牖房車、跨界休旅、電動車，甚至皮卡，這表明該品牌了解如何製造安全的車輛，無論設計要求如何。
現代汽車北美公司首席安全長 Cole Stutz 表示，隨著現代汽車繼續保持在 IIHS TSP 獎項中的領先地位，我們很自豪能夠獲得另外兩款產品獲選，包括新款 2024 年現代中型SUV 休旅Santa Fe和2024 年式大型房車Sonata，現代汽車一直致力於提供安全的車輛，來保護客戶和其他弱勢道路使用者。
在現代汽車獲獎的 9 輛新車中，Ioniq 6、Ioniq 5 和 Kona 均獲得了最高的 Top Safety Pick+ 評價。 Ioniq 5憑藉後排乘員安全的進步而獲得了最高分。獲得獎項總數僅次於現代汽車的是TOYOTA，有 8 輛汽車獲選，再其次是現代汽車的豪華副品牌GENESIS則有 6 輛汽車獲選。
IIHS的撞擊測試，在2024年測試變得更加嚴格，IIHS 提高了測試難度，以鼓勵車商投資更多的經費來提高車輛的安全性。更新後的安全標準，要求車子要能更積極地保護後座乘客，並改善路上行人防撞系統。
