北美分工戰略完成，HYUNDAI全新5.0L Tau V8引擎即將導入應戰！

HYUNDAI日前確認了在北美市場兩款重要車型的新動力搭載計畫，也就是HYUNDAI將在夏季末於北美上市的2011年式Equus與Genesis，日前來自韓國的消息指出，這兩款重要的旗艦房車將搭載全新5.0L Tau V8引擎。
不過Equus在初期上市將無法馬上搭載這顆引擎，北美的消費者還是只有現有的4.6L Tau V8引擎，動力輸出為最大馬力385hp與峰值扭力46kgm的表現；不過根據HYUNDAI表示，在明年三月這具5.0L新引擎就能夠導入Equus豪華房車之中，能夠輸出429hp最大馬力以及51.9kgm，搭配八速自手排變速箱，400hp以上級距將在北美與4.4L V8引擎的BMW 750i、BMW 760i與M-BENZ S600同場較勁。
而將相同受惠於5.0L新引擎的Genesis Sedan目前雖然無法確定是否同步搭載八速手自排變速箱，不過自2008年以來所設定的目標終於能夠達成，也讓Genesis Sedan在北美市場有新的動力級距來挑戰相當強勢的2011年式五系列，也就是550i所搭載的4.4L雙渦輪增壓V8引擎，而Genesis Sedan原本的4.6L鎖定的對手就是M-BENZ E550。
目前全新Equus的詳細細節尚未公布，不過除了動力更新之外，伴隨而來的也將是更明顯的產品區隔，Equus將主打豪華尊榮的風格，將與BMW 760i、M-BENZ S600正面交鋒；而Genesis Sedan則是低一個級距來對付五系列與E-Class。
