5月22日於台中所舉辦HYUNDAI金卡納台灣GP車手選拔權賽，可說是金卡納舉辦至今最精采的一站！
這次在台中國家音樂廳預定地所舉辦的比賽，由於場地比台北站A13停車場大上許多，參賽車數多達近九十餘輛；HYUNDAI HRT車隊外中部地區許多知名車手也都參予了這項選手選拔賽，如台灣房車錦標賽常勝軍楊孟樵、林維忠、PCR法系房車賽挑戰賽陳維明、馬若淵、March挑戰賽王仁維、去年亞洲盃國手吳俊楠、石峻豪、巫冠頡、劉吉凱、張書明與越野爬山賽中表現傑出的風暴車隊郭樹林等十餘位實力超級堅強的車手，都參加了HYUNDAI汽車金卡納台中站選拔賽。
此次參賽車輛依車輛改裝幅度、車輛軸距等條件共分為八各組別進行四回合的預賽，其中讓車手花了許多心思莫過於拉手煞甩尾過彎，在眾多車手中，以風暴車隊郭樹林、E`SPEC車隊楊孟樵、街道饅頭車隊王仁維將這招應用得最出神入化，四回合的預賽下來，柏油路面場地讓大家甩得沙塵飛揚，不過精采的賽況讓人有另類WRC的視覺享受。
預賽中另有許多成績優異的車手如TSD車隊劉吉凱、科西嘉車隊陳維明、忠堂車隊林維忠、亞米哥車隊王昱勝等車手則以精準的油門收放與方向盤控制創下佳績，台中站冠軍由街道饅頭車隊王仁維奪下、亞軍科西嘉車隊陳維明、季軍風暴車隊郭樹林。
除了精彩賽事外，金卡納亞洲盃國手劉吉凱與張書明分別擔任這次比賽的大會指定教練，比賽中場休息時，兩位教練分別駕駛大會指定用車HYUNDAI Getz表演最華麗的駕控前趨車手煞技法甩尾飄移，此同時也開放現場觀眾試乘體驗Getz胎飄移美技，兩位教練都施展全力讓觀眾開心上車，軟腳下車，大呼過癮！
另外大會所安排的Show Girl熱舞秀與現代汽車有獎徵答活動更是炒熱了現場氣氛，這麼精彩的賽事與表演，HYUNDAI金卡納台灣GP車手選拔權賽將移師高雄，於6/12(星期日)與大家相約高雄站見！
