根據Automotive News對全球主要汽車製造商所做的生產與銷售規模分析，韓國HYUNDAI集團已經在去年成為全球第6家汽車製造商。
去年HYUNDAI集團(包括KIA)全球生產總數為371萬5096輛汽車，比2004年成長了11.6%，已經超越NISSAN成為全球第6大汽車製造商；HYUNDAI自從併購KIA之後，每年銷售持續成長。
而全球車廠前十大排名為，GM全球第一大廠，共生產838萬1805輛，TOYOTA為第二大廠，去年年產量有812萬輛，FORD位居全球第三，產量有620萬8700輛，接下來依序是VW(524萬2793輛)、CHRYSLER( 485萬4700輛)、HYUNDAI(371萬5096輛)、NISSAN(359萬7748輛)、PSA(339萬輛)、HONDA(336萬5000輛)及RENAULT(235萬3428輛)。
