需求強大導致產能持續緊繃，HYUNDAI美國阿拉巴馬廠區將增員並改為三班制

HYUNDAI近日才剛公布今年第一季的銷售報告，其中HYUNDAI較去年同期提升16.7%、達到1,072,679輛銷售量，KIA也成長12.6%來到636,398輛的銷售成績，集團總銷量在第一季就以合計1,709,077輛開出紅盤，但相信各位讀者都知道，HYUNDAI並不及於進一步提升全年總銷售成績以及產能，不過在美國市場強大的需求之下，HYUNDAI已確定針對阿拉巴馬廠區進行人員擴充，並開始實行三班制。
全名為HYUNDAI Motor Manufacturing Alabama（HMMA）的阿拉巴馬廠區從2009年開始進行現行Sonata的組裝生產工作，接著在2010年10月，Elantra也加入了這個廠區的生產線，而在美國所有賣出的Sonata，有33%是由這座廠區所生產，而此地所生產的Elantra也佔了全數的31%；而Sonata與Elantra在加拿大所售出的數量，更佔了這個廠區年產量的14%。
事實上，Sonata與Elantra在美國的銷售量仍持續在成長中，到今年3月份為止，車兩款車型的銷售成績較去年同期分別提升了6%與8%，這也讓Sonata與Elantra再度打破他們在去年所創下的銷售成績；面對如此強勁的需求，也難怪HYUNDAI即便已經表示今年目標僅小幅成長，卻還是得進行人員擴充的動作。
未來HYUNDAI阿拉巴馬廠區將從今年9月份開始，正式改為三班制作業，兒人員招募與培訓的工作則是已經開始進行；為了應付第三班的人力需求，將新增一共877名員工，再增員之後，全廠區的工作人員總數將達到3,000名，最主要的戰略目標則是希望2012年的總產量能達到20,000輛。
