根據調查，韓國五大汽車廠在2006年上半年汽車總銷售量為2,900,480輛，比去年同期成長16.6%；其中在韓國國內銷售的總量為550,442輛，比去年同期成長5%，而外銷至其他國家的銷售總數2,346,338輛，比去年同期成長19.8%。
韓國第一大車廠HYUNDAI在韓國銷售量為280,880輛，比去年同期增加7.7%，是韓國五大車廠中成長最多的車廠，KIA、DAEWOO及SAMSUNG也分別比去年同期成長2.0%、4.0%及3.3%，SSANG YONG是唯一在韓國銷售量比去年同期少的韓國車廠，下滑2.4%。
分析韓國國內汽車銷售成長的主因為新車上市，並且各家汽車公司推出促銷活動。
