業界臆測HYUNDAI汽車公司想要買JAGUAR汽車，新出爐的消息則是；HYUNDAI汽車發表一份正式聲明，說明他們並沒有任何意願購買FORD旗下的JAGUAR汽車，同時表示，他們對新的生產工廠及能源科技比較有興趣。
當FORD汽車釋出願意將旗下資產賣出的訊息後，韓國HYUNDAI汽車的名字曾幾度被提及；而現在，HYUNDAI公司提出一個「問答式」的聲明，其說法如下：「HYUNDAI公司或KIA公司對購買JAGUAR或旗下的資產是否有興趣？答案是：『不！我們沒有興趣。』。」。
他們表示：「我們對於國外開發的生產線，例如：北美、歐洲、中國、印度等地的工廠，有責任讓它們營運正常，而公司也預期花下大量精神進行其他能源的研究；例如汽電共生、燃料棒等。我們手上已經有相當多的工作要作，因此目前對併購並沒有興趣。HYUNDAI公司內部的確曾經評估購買一些高級的車廠，像JAGUAR汽車，不過，該項臨時動議馬上在其他重要議題提出後被排除掉。」。
而FORD汽車高層則表示，他們的確曾經徵詢財經專家對出售資產的意見，但對於什麼人將購買JAGUAR這個品牌，他們並沒有偏見。
