根據不久之前TOYOTA集團所公布的資料顯示，今年第一季TOYOTA集團北美汽車市場銷售量與獲利表現並不理想，不過剛剛在當地推出旗下第一款高級房車的HYUNDAI自動車，最近在當地市場表現卻相對亮麗！

根據韓國HYUNDAI自動車原廠公布的資料顯示，今年三月開始HYUNDAI自動車在北美汽車市場的佔有率維持在三個百分點以上，相較之下北美汽車市場整體已經連續半年出現下滑的趨勢，分析家表示油價高漲也降低一般消費者換車的意願。
由於日圓兌美元匯率不斷走強，對於日系車在當地的售價形成壓力，而今年上半年起，推出一年多的HYUNDAI Elantra房車銷售表現在過了蜜月期後，卻出現明顯的成長現象，此外剛剛於當地發售的 Genesis豪華房車初期接單銷售情況也超乎原廠預期，這款新車日前以3.3萬美元（約合新台幣100.6萬元）起跳的售價於當地發售，被視為是HYUNDAI進軍北美高級車市的生力軍。
雖然近期因為原物料成本提升，但HYUNDAI自動車今年第一季的營業利潤依舊比去年同期成長達61%，達到5291億韓圜，相當於新台幣156.8752億元左右。
