HYUNDAI第一輛汽電Hybrid車型將以Sonata房車為基礎，在明年10月首度於北美發表的消息

HYUNDAI在2008年洛杉磯車展中首度發表了Sonata〝Blue Drive〞Hybrid概念車型，同時預告〝Blue Drive〞在未來將是HYUNDAI的環保子品牌，主要運用柴電雙動力系統來達到全車系的環保訴求；而這項子品牌計畫似乎隨著車展結束後便音量漸小，不過在AutoNet持續新聞追蹤下，HYUNDAI R&D部門首腦Yang Woong Chul日前接受媒體訪問時，終於是透露了幾項重要的細節。

HYUNDAI的Hybrid技術已是相當成熟。

首先，Yang Woong Chul確認了先前傳出HYUNDAI第一輛汽電Hybrid車型將在明年10月首度於北美發表的消息，這輛以Sonata房車為基礎所打造的Hybrid房車將被賦予新的名稱與絕對獨特的設計，動力系統預估將搭載一具2.4L汽油引擎與一具可輸出相當於40hp的鋰電池驅動馬達，動力區分如同一般Hybrid配置；在北美上市後將以TOYOTA Prius為主要對手，Yang Woong Chul相信以HYUNDAI創新設計的功力絕對可以瓜分不少追求差異化的潛在客群。

而在這輛重要的Hybrid房車上市前，HYUNDAI在2009年底的韓國市場會更早上市一輛Elantra Hybrid車型，不過這輛能夠以LPG為燃料的Elantra目前尚無在其他市場販售的計畫，無法成為斥喉；因此HYUNDAI在北美的Hybrid之爭似乎還有得拼，別忘了在4月起，HONDA Insight即將以美金2萬元（約新台幣66萬元）登陸北美，屆時又是另一場日韓大戰。
