2011芝加哥車展報導：R-Spec版引擎擴至5.0L，2012年式HYUNDAI Genesis車系進化登場

隨著2010年芝加哥車展登場，HYUNDAI帶給北美層峰消費者最具魄力的豪華中大型房車，進行搭載全新5.0L GDi V8汽油引擎的Genesis R-Spec全球首演，相較於2011年式Genesis R-Spec光是在引擎動力面，便有了令人期待的大躍進表現！
2011年式Genesis R-Spec搭載經過調校的3.8L V6引擎，可輸出最大馬力306hp，最大扭力36.7kgm，也因為引擎採用VIS（Variable Intake System）可變進氣系統，提升引擎運作效率。
到了2012年式Genesis R-Spec搭載HYUNDAI量產車型有史以來最具動力的5.0L GDi V8汽油引擎，以原有4.6L V8引擎擴缸而得，加上燃油缸內直噴等技術加持，可輸出最大馬力429hp/6400rpm，最大扭力52.0kgm/5000rpm，引擎的馬力/引擎容積比達到 85.8hp/L，展現頗具效率的輸出表現。
Genesis R-Spec更標配19吋鋁合金輪圈、Michelin Pilot Sport PS2夏季性能跑車胎、跑車化懸吊、雙出式排氣尾管與更為精準靈敏的轉向系統，讓層峰消費者享有前所未有的暢快動力饗宴與駕駛樂趣。
除了Genesis R-Spec將以全新V8動力挑戰LEXUS GS460、INFINITI M56與M-BENZ E550等北美同級距對手之外，2012年式Genesis車系也進一步讓3.8L V6汽油引擎的效率與操控表現提升，主要是透過導入全新八速自排變速箱，以及針對底盤進行更適合北美交通環保的調校，而全車系更導入LED日間行車燈、LED尾燈組等配備。
3.8L V6汽油引擎最大輸出從290hp提升至333hp，最大輸出扭力從34.0kgm提升至40.2kgm，馬力/引擎容積比達到87.6 hp/L，也勝過LEXUS GS350、BMW 528i與M-BENZ E350等同級對手，同時在八速自排變速箱加持之下，市區平均油耗與高速油耗表現均有提升，高速油耗從11.4km/L提升至12.2km/L。
獲得國際引擎大賞肯定的4.6L V8汽油引擎，同樣在八速自排變速箱加持之下，讓高速油耗從10.5km/L提升至10.9km/L，不過市區油耗不變仍為7.1 km/L。
當然，原廠也為2012年式Genesis車系導入ESC電子車身穩定控制系統、LDWS車道偏離警示系統(Lane Departure Warning System)等以維護行車安全，更增添DVD衛星導航系統、中控台觸控式液晶顯示螢幕等配備。
