根據最新消息指出，日前四川南駿集團，正式與韓國HYUNDAI集團在成都正式簽約，而四川南駿與韓國現代以50：50比例分別出資18億人民幣在資陽合資設立「四川現代汽車有限公司」，該合資體系的產品，將同步產銷南駿與HYUNDAI雙品牌戰略。
根據這項合資計畫顯示，雙方將在2013年五月底達成首期投資36億人民幣，打造可年產15萬輛整車與引擎的產銷體系，除了，共同打造具備全球競爭力的世界級商用車基地之外，並計劃中長期研發製造符合中國國家環境保護政策的電動車、節能環保車、CNG車輛等新能源車輛。
此外，該合資體系也提出2020年產銷現代商用車70萬輛的中期目標。
2009年HYUNDAI集團商用車部門，率先與內蒙古包頭北奔重汽建立中韓商用車體系，而且目前各項建設與計畫也在順利推動，北奔重汽也將在今年底前正式宣佈這項合資計畫。
但眼見乘用車南北二大合資體系，已經逐步於當地乘用車市場開疆拓土，所以HYUNDAI集團商用車部門，還計畫與四川省資陽市政府以及當地南駿汽車有限公司簽署合作合資協議，HYUNDAI集團商用車部門將與南駿汽車合資重組四川南駿汽車有限公司，並且宣布設立四川現代汽車有限公司。
由於根據 中國政府《汽車產業發展政策》，同一家外商僅能在中國成立二家同類產品的合資企業，這也代表著HYUNDAI集團商用車部門在南駿、北奔重汽合資之後，原有的廣汽現代商用車計畫將終止各項準備與運作。
