別把它說到沒有了!HYUNDAI確認開發第二代Veloster個性跑車

獨特2+1車門設計以及流暢的Fluidic Sculpture「流體雕塑」外觀造型,讓HYUNDAI Veloster在2011年底特律車展一問市就立即吸引各界目光。不過隨著小跑車熱潮消退,就算是像Veloster有如此個性化的產品特性仍難逃銷售低迷,甚至在2014年7月時更傳出,若Veloster持續銷售不佳,HYUNDAI有可能就將它停留在這一代的噩耗。
日前2015年底特律車展,美國HYUNDAI產品規劃副總Mike O’Brien直接說:「Don’t write its epitaph yet!」,婉轉的說法就是別把Veloster說不見了,表示先前報導的傳言不屬實,因為HYUNDAI目前還有一個團隊正在開發新Veloster。言下之意代表Veloster還會有下一代車型,不會到此就結束。
Mike O’Brien更補充,Coupe雙門跑車有一種相當跳躍的銷售周期,第一年反應強烈但到了第三年開始暴跌。不過Mike O’Brien還是很有自信的表示,Veloster在美國市場有著相當卓越的銷售表現,且未來也會賣得很好。因為它可以繼續吸引真正的年輕買家,甚至是很熱情的族群,維持熱絡的銷售情勢。
而從數據來看Veloster在美國首年就賣了近3.5萬輛、2013年3.1萬輛,到了2014年已經下滑到2.8萬輛。且從一般版本Veloster就開始增加Veloster Turbo以及Veloster Turbo R-Spec等車型保有產品話題,但HYUNDAI認為這還是不夠的。因此Mike O’Brien透露在接下來的芝加哥車展上,Veloster還會再續推特別版,進一步刺激銷售表現。
