現代汽車（Hyundai）於 2022 年 12 月中旬公布了全新2代Kona跨界休旅的初步細節和圖像，著接著一個月後再公布Kona的內燃機和油電車型的相關資訊，而有關Kona EV純電動版本的所有資訊和完整的圖像，，則要等到3月Kona全車系全球首發才能揭曉，不過今日現代品牌則提前公布一部Kona EV的預告影片，讓大家搶先一窺堂奧，儘管這只是一部數位化影片，片中使用電腦合成影象技術。

此次公布的預告，讓大家看到了油車和電車之間，在造型上仍有一些顯著的差異，車頭和車尾的LED光條下的中央部位，和汽油版大不相同，前後的保桿和前氣壩有著電動車型專屬的設計，這和Ioniq 5 和Ioniq 6的車頭尾設計非常相似。這一者是為了讓Kona EV和Ioniq電動車家族之間建立關聯性，它們皆為零碳排放車款。當然，因為電動馬達而非內燃機，所以車頭面板格柵是封閉式的，另外保桿上還有一個充電口的外蓋。

而在座艙內，-也可以看到Kona EV和Ioniq車款有著一些相似的設計，與Kona汽油版和油電版有所區隔，像是方向盤中央，就沒有現代汽車H的廠徽，而是四個點塊，它們代表著摩斯密碼的H。和上一代一樣，Kona EV 與內燃機及油電車型，共用相同的空間設計，儀表台採用12.3吋的並列式螢幕，但同時中控仍保留了許多實體的按鍵與旋鈕。

全新 Kona 的車格比第1代大了一號，車長增加了 145mm，達到 4,350 mm，軸距增加了 60 mm，達到 2660mm。至於車寬為 1825mm，車高1580mm，這些尺寸規格是汽油版和油電版本所屬，估計EV電動車型會有很大的不同。此外，現代官方也已確認將會有造型更加運動化的N Line 車型，但不確定未來是否也會推出Kona N高性能車型。
