HYUNDAI將召回旗下2002-2003年份的Sonata，為數約29,500輛﹔根據美國高速公路交通安全局(NHTSA)的報告，由於Sonata的備胎尺寸不夠，當Sonata換上備胎時，會造成循跡系統啟動，而影響煞車系統介入，應更換適合的備胎尺寸。
Sonata有2.0升四缸與2.7升V6兩款引擎可供選擇，變速箱分為五速手排或四速自排，而同樣的2.7升引擎，目前也搭載在HYUNDAI旗下的Santa Fe上，此兩款引擎的馬力值分別為130hp/6000rpm與171hp/6000rpm，扭力值為17.8kgm/4600rpm與25.0kgm/4000rpm，雖然是平價車款，卻也提供了氙氣頭燈，速度感應式雨刷及循跡控制系統等高等配備。
