根據最新外電消息指出，位於第一大港聖彼得堡的HYUNDAI俄羅斯整車廠，日前正式宣佈竣工投產，而為了表示重視，連俄羅斯現任總理普丁也親自到場參與盛大的啟用儀式。
韓國HYUNDAI集團表示，這座為於聖彼得堡的俄羅斯整車廠，最快明年元月將進入正式運轉投產，而2011年該廠預計投產新車約10.5萬輛，2012年將生產15萬輛汽車。
這座聖彼得堡工廠是HYUNDAI集團海外生產體系的的第六大工廠，前五大海外生產機分別為美國、中國、印度、土耳其與捷克。
而且這座新工廠將為俄羅斯增加約5300個工作機會，而且也將推動俄羅斯汽車工業與零組件相關產業的發展，連同HYUNDAI集團俄羅斯分公司，該廠編制內共有多達二千名職工。
此外，除了第一款投產的房車Sonata之外，2011該廠也將投產不久前於2010莫斯科國際車展發表的Verna小型三廂房車。
今年前八個月HYUNDAI於俄羅斯汽車市場銷售新車達4.72萬輛，約比去年同期成長22%，同期俄羅斯汽車產業平均銷售表現比去年成長14％。
