Fiesta能以傳統動力科技入圍綠能風雲車評選，可見其實力非凡！

由Green Car Journal雜誌所舉辦的Green Car of the Year，至今已經邁入第六屆的評選，從2006年開始前五屆的「年度風雲綠能車款」得主分別為 MERCURY Mariner Hybrid、TOYOTA Camry Hybrid、CHEVROLET Tahoe Hybrid、VW Jetta TDI Clean Diesel與2010年的AUDI A3 TDI Clean Diesel所獲得。

Volt是GM集團嘔心瀝血的大作，非得成功開出紅盤不可。

如今，第六屆的2001年Green Car of the Year評選也已經開始如火如荼的進行，目前已有五款新車已經入圍第二階段的評選，入圍的車款分別為CHEVROLET Volt、NISSAN Leaf、HYUNDAI Sonata Hybrid、LINCOLN MKZ Hybrid以及才剛在北美地區上市的FORD Fiesta汽油版本，這些車款的基本條件都是其高速行駛的油耗表現都要超過48mpg（16.9km/l）以上的表現，而屆時將由誰出線獲得此一殊榮？則得等到11月18日所舉行的洛杉磯車展（媒體日）中揭曉。

而以目前的氣勢來看，呼聲最高的當屬CHEVROLET Volt與NISSAN Leaf兩款電動車型，尤其是Volt這款可以充電也可以用引擎燃油發電行駛的設計，最被北美地區的民眾所重視；而NISAAN Leaf雖然人氣也相當高，但對於北美市場來說畢竟外國品牌的產品，在這種節骨眼上想拿下此一殊榮，恐怕還得再費上些許的力氣才行。

另外，在入圍的五款車型之中，有四款車型不是使用純電動就是油電混合技術，採用傳統引擎動力技術的入圍車款就只有FORD Fiesta一款而已，更顯得本車在此節能表現上的卓越成就，這也表示其所使用的缸內直噴汽油引擎搭配PowerShift六速自手排變速箱的領先技術，的確有其獨到之處，可惜這樣的組合目前暫時僅有北美市場版本可以使用，國內所導入的歐規車型恐怕還得再等上一等。
