HYUNDAI全球第六生產基地正式啟動，俄羅斯廠2011年產能10.5萬輛

野心與目標越來越大的韓國HYUNDAI，在新世代流體雕塑設計及動力科技奏效後，不僅在各地創造亮眼成績，更在歐洲銷售首度擠下TOYOTA，如今位於俄羅斯聖彼得堡的生產工廠也開始啟用，這個HYUNDAI海外第六個生產基地具有15萬輛產能規模，2011年總計生產目標為10.5萬輛。
繼印度、中國、美國、土耳其、捷克後，HYUNDAI位於海外的第六個生產基地終於開始運作，位於俄羅斯聖彼得堡的HMMR（HYUNDAI Motor Manufacturing Russia）將生產最新主力房車Solaris，更是HYUNDAI最先進也最新穎的廠房，許多生產流程都採高科技的自動化生產，環境也符合環保要求，目前擁有超過1,300名作業員，隨著所有硬體完備預計2012年9月份替當地增加5,300工作機會。
根據HMMR總經理Gui-Il Chun 表示：「這對HYUNDAI來說可是歷史性的一刻，同時對俄羅斯而言更是第一家真正生產製造合一的國外車廠，也是百分百完全屬於HYUNDAI獨資的企業，雖然是外資，但我們仍將提供最佳的產品給消費者。」
在俄羅斯廠所生產的Solaris（車名是由HMMR在俄羅斯公開民眾票選），雖說是HYUNDAI專為俄羅斯市場所開發的車型，實際上就是Elantra/Avante的雙生車，除了底盤離地高度增加至160mm，也採用高達4公升的雨刷水箱，還有60安培電池來對應零下低溫啟動點火所需；同時前後座加熱功能、具加熱功能車外後視鏡/雨刷等，也都是HYUNDAI專為俄羅斯市場所開發的配備。另外，原廠提供的引擎啟動鍵、Keyless、藍牙、六具氣囊等，更增加Solaris在同級對手中的競爭力。動力則搭載HYUNDAI新一代Gamma引擎，共有1.4L和1.6L兩具直列四缸DOHC多點噴射汽油引擎，並附上CVVT連續汽門可變正時候達到節能效果。
而HYUNDAI除了在印度、中國、美國、土耳其、捷克、俄羅斯等設立生產基地，也預計在2011年底在巴西興建第七個基地，這也說明HYUNDAI要落實在地化，並以全球HYUNDAI為主要目標。只是明明台灣也有HYUNDAI的基地，何以未將台灣納入海外廠，莫非是代工所以不算？
