派克斯峰登山賽在國際當中的名聲可說是相當響亮，同時更號稱是全球最困難的越野賽事之一，這項賽事自1916年開辦至今已經有相當長的歷史，雖然2012年的第90屆賽事曾受到美國科羅拉多州的森林大火影響，最後仍是順利落幕，而HYUNDAI更是與Rhys Millen Racing（RMR）車隊，以Genesis Coupe賽車拿下冠軍，同時更寫下9分46秒164的全新紀錄；而2013年的賽事目前已預定在6月30日展開。

在去年拿下好成績後HYUNDAI今年更擴大了參賽的陣容，將與Rhys Millen Racing車隊出動兩輛Genesis Coupe賽車挑戰今年度的Unlimited組別，並且首度進軍兩輪驅動車型時間挑戰賽組；基於去年優異的表現，HYUNDAI更跨下好豪語表示，將要挑戰這兩個組別的最速紀錄。

而HYUNDAI本屆的參賽車輛將延續去年的規格，以量產版車型為基礎，但其Lambda V6引擎在經過調校以及換裝包括汽缸蓋、曲軸等引擎部件，並且加裝增壓系統後，不但最大馬力上看900hp，峰值扭力更來到110.5kgm的驚人水準，此外今年度的賽車也將會獲得進一步的輕量化。

事實上，HYUNDAI以及Rhys Millen Racing車隊已有多次合作挑戰派克斯峰登山賽的紀錄，例如車隊當家車手Rhys Millen就曾在2009年駕駛小改款前的Genesis Coupe寫下不錯的成績，去年奪冠更是堪稱雙方合作的巔峰，而今年HYUNDAI與Rhys Millen Racing車隊在這全長約20km、全程彎道多達156處，終點設在4302m標高處的國際賽事，會有怎樣的成績，就讓我們拭目以待吧！
