HYUNDAI旗下SUV全新車款Tucson，日前受到日本工業設計促進組織的高度肯定。由該組織（JIDPO-Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization）選出的2004年設計大賞（Good Design Award），一直都是全球工業設計領域中相當具有代表性的年度設計大獎，而Tucson此次的全新洗鍊外型是受到設計大賞評審青睞的主要原因。
由JIDPO所建立的Good Design Award獎項，早在1957年就已經成立至今，已經成為全球重要的汽車工業設計指標獎項，HYUNDAI Tucson以結合實用機能與簡潔設計的理念，並且充分反映當前消費者對於汽車的需求而誕生，而New Crossover的設計主軸，非但不是陳義過高的空中樓閣，HYUNDAI原廠的設計中心更將其精義落實在人們日常的行動生活，讓所有擁有Tucosn的人們，在生活上實現Crossover的內涵。
在由JIDPO於東京East 21飯店舉行隆重的頒獎典禮中，HYUNDAI現代汽車日本分公司總裁親自出席並接受頒獎，並且表示日本汽車市場對於工業設計來說，依舊是高度競爭，每個在市場上銷售的產品，也必須受到嚴格的考驗，由於日本汽車市場新車輩出，如何藉由優異的工業設計，在消費者心目中留下深刻的印象，便成為所有業者第一個必須要面對的問題，Tucson能夠在工業設計數一數二的日本境內獲獎，對於韓國HYUNDAI汽車來說是莫大的鼓勵。
HYUNDAI Tucson自從去年夏季陸續在全球各大汽車市場上市後，就不斷地獲得各地的專業大獎，除了JIDPO頒發的Good Design Award之外，並且同時獲得莫斯科國際車展的年度風雲車獎項，也獲得包括加拿大AJAC汽車專業媒體組織所頒發的年度風雲車款獎項等。
